in/out ANIMATION!

http://webspace.ringling.edu/~fvallejo/ACCESS/CG320/fvallejo_inOUT.mov

This is my first animation from junior year (link above). We had to have our character make a clean entrance into the scene either walking or running and then the opposite when they make a clean exit. I think I'm getting better on the readability of my animation but there is still too much going on in the movement, especially the happy jump about half way through. A simple happy gesture would have been much more appropriate. I'm going to focus on clear readable movements on my next animation. Also the rim light on the character is too dim, although it helps. Lastly, I'm debating if there should have been a cut when he sees the dollar bill so you know what he is looking at. What do you guys think? Stay tuned a moth from now for my next animation.

enjoy!

Senor Monacle

Been bonkers here lately, but heres a screen from my recent animaton. Stay tuned for the final piece.

creepy

The project was to illustrate the word "creepy." Ronald McDonald with pretty much anyone equals creepy in my book.... I tried to avoid blood and guts and any shock value, but still leave you feeling uneasy. The inspiration for this one is the mighty Phil Hale. Can't beat his stuff.

Ring leader

A ring leader design for a group project I am working on. May be translated into 3D. Enjoy

foosball of the future!

If foosball is played by our brothers and sisters in the future this is how the game would be designed. I have two subtle variations. I originally went with the straight black but my teacher recommended going with a dark green to emphasize the mass of the girl's hip. I'm not sure which one is more successfull......The best aspect of this process was learning the bare bones of Illustrator. It's a time intensive program but you got to love the cleanliness it delivers.

colors?

color comps for illustration project..... be sure to check out my inspiration for these Ragnar at www.littlecartoons.com

sort of like a teaser trailer

Here is the world premiere to my first semester character: MONACLE the intergalactic zombie bartender! This is a screen grab of my workspace (with a look into some animating music and kieth lango's site hanging out on the taskbar). Took some sweat and tears to get here, but my character is finally at the animation point. I wanted to use one of them slick global illumination renders that everyone is doing but I'm not that advanced yet..haha. I'm also using a grease pencil to plan out my animation in 2d directly in MAYA! It's is a great tool and takes a lot of the pain out of timing an tearing apart your animation if it doesn't work. I look to finish this first animation test in a month er so, so check back here for updates and the final rendered piece. Thanks.
