Bench design templates

I'm entering these for consideration for "Sarasota Public Bus System (SCAT) bench design" call for entries. I had a good time with these, especially experimenting with style. My main source of imspiration this time is Hirschfeld.....gotta love his lines.

tentacle painting

This painting was done as I went. I really had no plan. I think it shows haha. It started out as a small sketch in my sketch book that I scanned in. I haphazardly colored it in Photoshop, then happy with where it was going decided to keep painting. This is my first completely photoshop painting. I'm not too sure about the color distribution in relation to the success of the composition. I'm worried that the right bottom corner containing the tentacle is too bright and takes the eye off the face. I used Norman Rockwell's trick of using red to create a triangular/circular shape to lead the eye around the focus (i.e. the two orbs and the fabric tucked in the hat). I would really appreciate some crit. Thanks.

ill

This guy is asking to be drawn. Photoshop over Marker. Having some problems with contrast because I wanted to emphasize the glow from behind his glasses and his ears but also have the form still read. Also taking any suggestions for another less safe background color...?

Just experienced the phenomenon of different monitors displaying images with differences in contrast and color variation. I did this image above with my standard monitor settings for the past 2 years. I then re-calibrated my monitor and the image is completely different! The design community should create a standard setting that all monitors can be set to. Then there will be no discrepancy with this issue......at least that's my 2 cents.
