Mo Character Development

.....Just a continuation of the post from yesterday. It's stressful designing these characters because I know I may use them for my thesis!? So I figure I'll just explore as many possibilities as I can. I can use help from you guys on pointing out the more succesful designs and/or shapes so let me know! Thanks!

Pre-visualization action

These are some EARLY concepts for a project that may develop into my senior thesis. I enjoyed the technique of drawing a round (or square for that matter) shape in a %20 grey Prisma and figuring out the face inside that shape. I got some fun results. I'm hoping to blend the styles of the old Warner Brothers cartoons with (the greatest short of all time) Rhapsody in Blue. Much more work will follow. Enjoy sirs and mams.

3d Me

Well, schools underway and I'm getting into survival mode with the intensity of classes this semester. I sculpted a cartoon maquette of my bust in preparation for my first 3d project: lip sync of ourselves. I'm workin on my head and this is the low res of what I have so far. I'm about 50% done and the main thing missing is my hat. That final touch should (hopefully) turn this character into an obvious me. That illustration posted below is to be done by Weds so I'll be posting that soon as well. Back to modeling! Peace.

family portrait commision

A happy new year to everybody! 2007 looks to be even better than 2006. Just about to start school again so I thought I'd put up this commision while I was at home. I was without a computer at home so I had to make due (thanks baby). But now I got a nice computer in my dorm so I'm ready to tackle this art business!
