ORIGINS | new works by:
Kyung Soon Park
Francis Vallejo +
Austin McCormick
June 5th - July 19th
Subtext Gallery, San Diego CA
Opening Reception: this Friday June 5th 6-10pm
____________
I'm pleased to announce my first major exhibition opening this Friday at Subtext Gallery in San Diego, CA. I'll be sharing wall space with two very talented artists: Kyung Soon Park and Austin McCormick. All the original work falls under our interpretation of the word "Origins." I'll admit it's been great fun to watch how each artist has interpreted the theme so differently!
I'm flying out Wednesday to hang the show, and really look forward to hopefully put some faces to names at the opening this Friday. Make sure to say hello!
The top image is one of my paintings to be exhibited. It's an oil of Michigan Central Station in Detroit, Michigan. I spent many afternoons and nights exploring that amazing building. The next two images are details of my main canvas, a 40x60 oil on linen. I'll have 2-3 more pieces exhibited, that I will post after the show has been up for a little while.
hope to see folks there!!

You really nailed it here. The lighting is unreal.
rich and awesome colors! I wish I were in SD to see it in person..
Nice very nice. I never understood why you left the faces blank at the Ringling show. Guess you painted them in once it dried.
Nice lighting
Love the top painting!! I wish I could see it in person but CA is a bit far for me. Congrats on the show!
Good luck with the show. The work speaks for itself. Cheers!
Hi Francis. I went to Ringling for a bit and then saw you at Comicon. I don't know if you remember me but I will be going to the show! I've heard a lot about and am really excited!
thanks for the support guys! If you make it to the show, make sure to say hi! I look forward to seeing everyone!
alejandro: yeah the painting was unfinished at the thesis show, was VERY upset that that's how I had to display it, but that's been a beast of a painting

Hey Francis I was just down in San Diego today and saw the show. Your big painting looked awesome. I especially loved the left side with the fridge and sink, it was painted really well. Im sure it will look even better once you get the small stuff finished up. congrats!
