CRS and Lupe!

So I had another quick turn around on these two illustrations...a little over 1 day to complete both. The top image is a caricature image of the new super-group CRS. The members are Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and Lupe Fiasco. Hirschfeld was obviously heavily referenced for the drawing.....man that guy is good!!!! I hope to one day do work for VIBE so I created the images in that format. I put up the piece with the Vibe text and a raw version. The bottom image is the portrait I did of Lupe. Unfortunately he looks 20 years older in this version but I did learn alot from messing with different media!

take care,

Hey man, I really dig the line weight and overall flow of the piece. I do feel like there should be some spots of color within the back pack. Maybe on the stickers. It gets just a little confusing in there. Other than that it's tight!

What materials did you use for this last one, Francis?

cederic: I rendered it in graphite and popped some things out with ball point...spray fixed it...went over things with matte medium and white acrylic, used a bad brush to put in some ink lines...repeated same process until I got a cool look....then scanned it into photoshop and messed with saturation layers along with popping out some highlights

hope this help!
