808's and Heartbreak

I did this doodle after being inspired by the bits and pieces I've heard of Kanye's new album. At first I wasn't too sure about the direction he's going in. But don't we as artists experiment too? If we did the same thing all the time it would get stale. So I can understand what 'Ye is doing, and if anything I can tell he means what he says, which is a rare thing these days.

Ramon Casas book!!!!!!!!!

Well in my last post I said I had a Ramon Casas book coming. Well I just got an email from the Spanish site saying it's not is stock. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!


If anybody can help me get this book, or point me towards a viable source to find it, an original piece of art is yours. Its a large beautiful book with millions of Casas' drawings. It must be super rare or something because I can't find it anywhere. Casas is a drawing superhero, so this book is a must have.


EDIT** I received the book in the mail today, thanks to those that put me in the right direction!**

Studies



Hey friends!
Lately this year I've been trying to step up my art history game. And I keep reading about how all the best old school artists did all kinds of master copies. So I've been doing my fair share. I've really enjoyed doing these this semester. They've taught me A LOT!!!! Highest recommendation!

So I did a copy of a great field drawing by William A. Smith (soldier), and an Ingres drawing. I got a few in progress ones....a Degas, and more Fechin. I just bought a SWEET Ramon Casas drawing book so I can't wait to do a few from that book!! The portrait is from one of my classes painted from a model, about 4.5 hours. I have some issues with it (as I have with a lot of my figure paintings, hence the lack of posts with them), but I finally achieved some things I've been working towards!
